The dollar traded near its highest in about six weeks against the euro and the yen in Asia after U.S. consumer confidence in July rose more than expected to a two- year high. The confidence report enforces Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan's comment last week that a recent slowdown in consumer spending should ``prove short-lived,'' stoking speculation the bank will raise interest rates four more times this year. The U.S. currency has gained 3.3 percent against the euro since last Tuesday, when Greenspan spoke to Congress.


حقق الدولار اعلي ارتفاع له مقابل اليورو خلال 6 اسابيع(بنسبه 3.3 ) وذلك بعد ارتفاع معدل ثقة المستهلكين هذا الشهر بصوره غير متوقعة( اعلي معدل خلال سنتين ) وكذلك حديث الان جرينسبان الاسبوع الماضي حول اكمانية رفع سعر الفائده علي الدولار خلال هذه السنة

EUR/USD - the currency pair fell out of bed (bid), following the surge in the U.S. consumer confidence report -- the data was more compelling than an earlier up tick in the Ifo survey -- and the upside bet was lost once the currency pair fell below the 1.2110 marker. The preponderance of negative short-term factors won out, and given the broad decline yesterday, the current up tick may meet resistance at just below 1.2100 and we may yet see that larger decline to 1.2000 - 1.1950
